[Adam Hart] This may seem cute to some people. But I’m taking issue with a few parts of Rep. John Shadegg’s (R-Ariz.) use of a small child in his debate against health care reform.

  1. He admits that Maddie is not his grandchild. If I were Speaker of the House, my first questions would have been: Did you steal the baby? Why did you steal the baby? Did you make up the name Maddie? Why should I care what a baby thinks? Babies are dumb.
  2. That last one was a statement.
  3. I seriously doubt Maddie’s mother’s taxes would go up $730 billion.
  4. The baby obviously didn’t want to be associated with his argument, hence her continuously pushing the microphone down.
  5. Why is he talking for the baby and bouncing it up and down as if it were a puppet? He knows babies don’t work like that, right?
